In an unprecedented scoop that saw audiences rise to their feet, singer songwriter Jo Black won no less than seven Ghoema Music Awards at this year’s ceremony at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg. The newcomer to the music scene gave a series of heartfelt thank you speeches and thanked, among others, Jenny Griesel for her role in his success.

Jenny Griesel managed the PR campaign that helped put Jo Black on the map, including the launch of the hit single SKEPE, written by Jo Black and Johan Vorster, and the second single “Bring die Hoop weer terug”. The strategically constructed PR drive included a social media build-up of inspirational messages that piqued fans’ curiosity around the bearded star, multiple TV appearances, several high-profile media spreads including feature articles in magazines and several prime time radio interviews that were anchored by the song playlisting.

Jo Black was further profiled in the film produced by Jenny Griesel, SUSTERS, as she helped construct a cameo role that brought him to the big screen in a unique and interesting way.
